India beat Pakistan by seven wickets in ACC Women’s T20 Asia Cup

Dubai (PCB Report):: India beat Pakistan by seven wickets in the Group ‘A’ fixture of the ACC Women’s T20 Asia Cup at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium (DICS) on Saturday evening. This was Pakistan women’s team’s first defeat in the eight-team tournament.

Pakistan will face Hong Kong in their third fixture of the tournament on Monday, 7 September at the same venue. Pakistan are currently second on the points table with two points from two outings in the tournament.

Opting to bat first, Pakistan’s opening pair of Muneeba Ali and Shawaal Zulfiqar provided a run-a-ball start of 27, but once Muneeba (13, 15b, 1x4) departed in the fifth over, Pakistan started to lose wickets at regular intervals and were bowled out for 55 in 18.1 overs.

Shawaal was the other Pakistan batter to reach double figures, scoring a run-a-ball 14, which included three fours. For India, Prema Rawat and Shree Charani took three wickets each.

In reply, India achieved the target in 8.4 overs for the loss of three wickets. All three wickets were taken by captain Fatima Sana, who conceded 17 runs in three overs.
