Kashmir Day: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Girls Squash Championship begins
Sports Bulletin Report PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Girls Junior Age Group Squash Championship got underway here at Qamar Zaman Squash Complex wherein all the players with the guests also staged a walk expressing solidarity with the people of Kashmir who are facing unmatched atrocities, barbarisms at the hands of Indian soldiers. The first female Station Director in the long history of Radio Pakistan Syeda Iffat Jabbar was the chief guest on this occasion. Former World Champion Qamar Zaman, Director Blue Tone Squash Academy Wazir Gul, Secretary General AIPs and President Pakistan Sports Writers Federation Amjad Aziz Malik, former Nazim Nawa Khali Sajjad Khan, KP Sports Writers President Asim Shiraz, and other important personalities were present. In the Kashmir Day Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Girls Junior Squash Championship held under the auspices of Provincial Squash Association, Under-13, Under-17, and Under-19 competitions were included. Syed Iffat Jabbar said: Kashmir is an integral part of Pakistan and Kashmir will become Pakistan one day. I appreciate the organizing committee for holding the event in connection with the Kashmir Day to pay homage to those who sacrificed their life for Kashmir independence. Qamar Zaman said: “Chief organizer and chief referee of the event is Manoor Zaman. Girls will get opportunities to show their best skills. In our annual calendar, we have 24 big tournaments every year along with league matches. Ramadan camp and other camps will be organized frequently and it is hoped that this Year 2023 also our association will get the award for most competitions.”

Kazim Hammad becomes Senior Vice President Squash Federation
ISLAMABAD (Press Release): Pakistan Squash Federation (PSF) has elected Kazim Hammad its Senior Vice President (SVP) in its 47th Executive Committee Meeting which was held here at Mushaf Squash Complex on the directives of President PSF. Besides PSF office bearers, Executive Members of PSF attended the meeting. The Executive Committee unanimously elected AVM Marshal Kazim as the new Senior Vice President PSF.  The House welcomed Marshal Kazim Hammad on being elected as Senior Vice President, PSF and assured their support.

Former world champion Jansher Khan calls on PM Shehbaz Sharif
Asghar Ali Mubarak ISLAMABAD: Former world squash champion Jansher Khan called on Prime Minister of Pakistan Mohammad Shehbaz Sharif at Prime Minister House here on Friday. On this occasion, Prime Minister said that providing sports fields, and the best sports facilities to the youth are among the priorities of the government. Prime Minister paid great tribute to Jan Sher Khan, who won the honor of eight times world champion and six times British Open champion, and said, "You have made the name of Pakistan bright and the whole nation is proud of you.” Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif further said: "Your services are invaluable for popularizing the game of squash in the country and promoting the game," Prime Minister Mohammad Shahbaz Sharif was informed by former world champion Jansher Khan about his recent activities for the promotion of squash. Jansher Khan said that he was providing training to young squash players these days. The Prime Minister highly appreciated the services of Jansher Khan.

Qamar Zaman announces to organize 24 squash events in 2023
Sports Bulletin Report PESHAWAR: Former World Champion, Qamar Zaman Khan announced on Saturday that one each PSA Ranking Tournament for men and women among 24 other squash tournaments would be organized during the ongoing year 2023 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. While unfolding the details in a press conference flanked by KPSA Secretary Sajjad Khan, Treasurer Wazir Gul and President Pakistan Sports Writers Federation Amjad Aziz Malik, and other officials, he further said that it was a notable achievement of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Squash Association (KPSA), headed by President Dawood Khan, for receiving the President Pride of Performance Trophy for holding most tournaments in the province. Qamar Zaman said: “Pakistan Squash Federation (PSF) has given formally approval to all our events in their annual calendar for Year-2023. Our association KPSA will try its best to hold as many tournaments as possible. A total of 24 tournaments will be held, including 12 national and 12 provincial level competitions with two international circuits under PSA.” “According to the schedule, the All Pakistan Junior Boys Squash Championship will be held in Peshawar from January 23-26. The prize money will be Rs. 100,000. All Pakistan Senior Men's Squash Championship will be held in Peshawar from February 13-17, the prize money of which is Rs. 100,000. A 10-day training camp will also be organized from May 20-30, 2023. There will be an All Pakistan Junior Squash Championship with a prize money of Rs. 200,000. All Pakistan Junior Boys Squash Championship will be held from August 8-13, 2023 with a prize money of Rs. 300,000 along with 15-day training camp, “he added. He further disclosed that the All Pakistan Women's Senior Squash Championship would be held from October 10-14, with a prize money of Rs.100,000. “There will be a 20-day training camp for KP boys while from Dec 12-17 there will be an All Pakistan Junior Squash Championship with a prize money of Rs. 300,000 and a 15-day training camp. The prize money was Rs.60, 000 and a 10-day will be organized for it alongside KP Junior Squash Championship from Feb 5-8, KP Junior Girls Squash Championship from March 21-27, and a month-long camp in April and May, “he concluded.

Jahangir Khan backs a qualified international coach in squash
Sports Bulletin Report KARACHI: Squash legend and former world champion Jahangir Khan has said that the role of qualified coaches in searching for new talent in squash and training for mentoring players to international standards for international-level competitions was vital for regaining the golden age period. While speaking at the ceremony held to award the shield to Head Coach Naveed Alam at Roshan Khan Jahangir Khan Squash Complex here, Khan further said that World-class players could be produced only by providing modern training of game from the grass-root level to the young players for their shining into world-class heroes. The manager of the complex, Lieutenant Commander Rahmatullah was also present on the occasion. “Representing Pakistan is the desire of every player and achieving it is a matter of great respect for every sportsperson to win honour for the country and to attain this goal, the tireless work of the coach is very instrumental in this regard, “he added. On this eve, Lt Commander Rehmatullah said: “Naveed Alam has been bringing up the budding talent of squash with zeal and providing training to them on modern lines, as well as providing awareness about the rules and regulations related to squash, technical issues and modern techniques of this game, makes one hopeful of good future of Pakistan squash when world-class players will be produced from this Complex who will represent Pakistan at international level in a successful manner, “. It should be noted that Pakistan's current number one women's player in squash and the first Chief of Naval Staff (CNS) National Squash Championship winner Zainab Khan, National Women Senior Champion Maryam Malik and Under-13-Junior and PSF Junior Champion Huzaifa Shahid trained by Naveed Alam. He said: “Jahangir Khan is a role model for squash players. I have always had his patronage and guidance. We aim to promote the game of squash from the grass root level and to highlight new talent so that our country can develop squash at the international level to regain the lost glory in squash, “Rehmatullah concluded.

Nasir Iqbal and Mariam Malik grab national squash titles
Faisal JB ISLAMABAD (December 25, 2022): Nasir Iqbal and Mariam have grabbed the men’s and women’s titles of the National Squash Championship after winning their respective finals at Mushaf Squash Complex Islamabad on Sunday. In the Men’s Seniors’ final, Nasir Iqbal from WAPDA got rid-of upcoming squash lad Noor Zaman from PAF 3-1 in a well-contested four games match. The final score-line was 11-7, 11-9, 9-11 and 11-9, as the match lasted 38 minutes. Earlier, in the Women’s Senior final, Mariam Malik (Army) thrashed Noor-ul-Ain Ejaz from SNGPL in straight games 3-0. The third game finished very close that decided on a tie-break. The final score-line was 11-6, 11-6, and 12-10. The match lasted 30 minutes.

CNS Squash Championships: Nasir Iqbal, Zainad Khan clinch titles
Sports Bulletin Report KARACHI (December 10, 2022) Pakistan’s top squash player, Nasir Iqbal and Zainab Khan have claimed the men’s and women’s titles of COMBAXX 1st CNS All Pakistan Squash Championship 2022 that concluded here at Pakistan Navy Roshan Khan Jahangir Khan Squash Complex, Fleet Club on Saturday. In the men’s final, Nasir Iqbal of Wapda outclassed Waqar Mehboob of KP in straight games 3-0 with the score-line of 11-5, 11-1 and 11-5 in a one-sided encounter that lasted for 20 minutes. The winner was awarded a cash prize of Rs. 200,000 while the runners-up received a cash prize of Rs. 40,000. Earlier, in the women’s finals, Zainab Khan (Army) beat Noor-ul-Ain (SNGPL) 3-1, as the final score-line was 11-5, 11-4, 10-12, and 11-3. The match lasted for 27 minutes. The winner of the women’s final received Rs. 100,000 while the runners-up got awarded Rs. 70,000 cash prize. Admiral Mohammad Amjad Khan Niazi NI (M) S Bt, Chief of the Naval Staff, who was the chief guest of the prize distribution ceremony, gave away trophies and cash prizes among the athletes. Speaking on the occasion, The Chief of the Naval Staff lauded the holding of such a grand event in which an overwhelming number of young players participated.
