Islamabad (PR): Yawar Hussain, a BS-20 officer of the Pakistan Administrative Service (PAS), has formally assumed charge as Director General of the Pakistan Sports Board (PSB), following his transfer and posting by the Establishment Division, Government of Pakistan.
Yawar Hussain has been posted to the PSB under the Inter Provincial Coordination (IPC) Division on a deputation basis with immediate effect. Prior to his appointment, he was serving under the Government of Punjab and brings with him extensive administrative experience and a strong background in public service.
Upon assuming office, Yawar Hussain expressed his commitment to promote sports development across the country and strengthen institutional support for athletes, coaches and sports federations. He emphasized the importance of grassroots sports development, talent identification, capacity building and the provision of modern facilities to help Pakistani athletes excel at regional and international levels.
He also reaffirmed the PSB's dedication to work closely with national sports federations, provincial governments, educational institutions and other stakeholders to create greater opportunities for young athletes and foster a vibrant sporting culture in the country.
