SPORTS BULLETIN REPORT Salt Lake City (USA):-The International Federation of Sport Climbing (IFSC) and USA Climbing announced that the IFSC Youth World Championships would be taken place in Dallas, Texas, USA, from 22 to 31 August, 2022. More than 400 young climbers are expected to gather at Movement Climbing’s The Hill for Boulder, and Summit Plano for Lead and Speed. The athletes will be divided into three age groups – Juniors, Youth A, and Youth B – and compete in the three Climbing disciplines. A computed Boulder & Lead ranking will also be created with the results of the two single disciplines. Tokyo 2020 Olympic Champions Janja Garnbret of Slovenia, and Alberto Ginés López of Spain, along with legendary climbers such as Noguchi Akiyo of Japan, and Adam Ondra of the Czech Republic, all competed and won at previous editions of the IFSC Youth World Championships, making it an almost-mandatory step to go through for the elite of the Sport Climbing circuit. IFSC President Marco Scolaris said: “It fills me with pride to see the strong bond that we have built in the last few years with our friends at USA Climbing, establishing Salt Lake City as one of the landmarks of our World Cup Series, and finding new opportunities, first in Los Angeles and now in Dallas. The Youth World Championships is by far the most important showcase of young and talented climbers that one can imagine, and who knows? Sports Bulletin Report LAHORE:-Diamond Paints and Newage Cables/Master Paints entered the main finals of the 1st President of Pakistan National Open Polo Championship 2022 sponsored by MidCity after winning their respective semifinals here at the Jinnah Polo Fields on Friday. Heroics of Guy Gibrat and Max Charlton helped Diamond Paints hammer Remounts by 8-5 in the first semifinal of the day. Both the heroes of the day did the magic with mallets and polo ponies and hammered a hat-trick each. Ahmed Ali Tiwana was the other key contributor from the winning side as he contributed with two goals each. From Team Remounts, Simon Prado fired in four goals while Mumtaz Abbas Niazi scored one goal. Diamond Paints dominated the match right from the word go as they pumped in two goals each in the first and second chukkers to gain a healthy 4-0 lead. Remounts made their presence felt in the third chukker by banging in a brace to make it 4-2 yet Diamond Paints once again had an upper hand as they thrashed in three goals to gain a healthy 7-2 lead. The fourth chukker was evenly poised as both the sides struck one goal each with Diamond Paints still enjoying 8-3 lead. Remounts though made a good comeback by thrashing in two goals yet it was too little situation for Remounts, as they lost the crucial semifinal by 5-8. The day’s second match was a nail-biting encounter where Newage Cables/Master Paints held their nerves and overcame spirited Master Paints by a narrow margin of 9-8. Gonzalo Deltour played the heroes’ role in Newage Cables/Master Paints triumph by converting superb seven goals out of total nine. The remaining two goals were pumped in by Vieri Antinori. For Master Paints, Marcos Panelo fired in five goals while Martin Carlos hammered a hat-trick. Newage Cables/Master Paints were off to a flying start as they banged in a brace to gain 2-0 lead. Just before the end of the first chukker, Master Paints converted one to make it 2-1 and then slammed in one more in the beginning of the second chukker to draw the blood at 2-2. Newage then started aggressive polo which helped them thrash in three back-to-back goals to have a good 5-2 lead. Master Paints bounced back well and fired in four fabulous goals to take a slight 6-5 lead. Newage then converted a beautiful goal to level the score at 6-6. Master Paints started the fourth chukker by pumping in a field goal to gain a slight 7-6 lead, which couldn’t last long as Newage first smashed in two back-to-back goals to have a slight 8-7 lead and then fired in another crucial goal to enhance their lead to 9-7. Master Paints though tried hard and succeeded in converting a spot penalty to reduce the margin to 9-8, but this was all that Master Paints could get from the match as they lost the semifinal by 8-9. The main final of the 1st President of Pakistan National Open Polo Championship 2022 sponsored by MidCity will be contested between Diamond Paints and Newage Cables/Master Paints on Sunday.

Sports Bulletin Report KARACHI:-Duo of Egyptian lads, Karim Abdel Gawad and Youssef Soliman set to meet in the final of Men’s Singles event of the Karachi Open Squash Championship 2022 after beating their respective opponents in the semifinals at DHA Asif Nawaz Squash Complex, Creek Club Karachi. In the first semifinal, Karim Abdel Gawad outclassed his compatriot Omar Mosaad in straight games 3-0 in just 28 minutes. The final score-line was 11-5, 11-4 and 11-4. However, in the second semifinal Youssef Soliman from also Egypt had to toil hard to overcome Mexican guy 3-1. The final score was 11-2, 11-4, 4-11 and 11-8 and match wasted 44 minutes. Final will be played on Saturday at the same venue. A defiant unbeaten 53 from Shemaine Campbelle saw the Windies recover from 70 for seven to post 140 as Bangladesh’s spinners suffocated the middle order. Afy Fletcher brought the West Indies back as she helped to reduce the opposition to 60 for five but Bangladesh battled back to take the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2022 league match to the final over before falling just short.  Deandra Dottin was the first to fall for 17 when she was caught behind off the bowling of Jahanara Alam who celebrated jubilantly before captain Nigar Sultana took a fantastic catch above her head to dismiss the other opener Hayley Matthews for 18. That gave Nahida Akter a wicket off her first ball before she conceded her first boundary to Rashada Williams, ominously it would be the last for 20 overs as Bangladesh turned the screw. Chedean Nation was run out for six off 37 balls thanks to a direct hit from Fargana before more maidens and wickets followed. Sports Bulletin Report SHARJAH:-Pakistan Blind Cricket Team thrashed Bangladesh by 7 wickets in the 6th match of the Triangular T-20 Blind Cricket Tournament at Skyland University Cricket Ground, Sharjah on Friday. Bangladesh won the toss and opted to bat first. Pakistan restricted Bangladesh to only 99 for 9 runs in the stipulated 20 overs.  Sahidul Islam was the main scorer with 23 runs off 26 Balls while Mohammad Mohsen Hussain chipped in with 17 runs off 29 balls. For Pakistan, Mohsin Khan got 2 wickets and Anees Javed claimed 1 wicket. In reply, Pakistan chased the target of 100 runs with ease in just 10.5 overs for the loss of 3 wickets. Mohsin Khan was the star with the bat as well, he scored 35 off 25 Balls and Riasat Khan made 28 runs off 13 balls. Arif Ullah took 1 wicket for Bangladesh. Abdullah Asjad RAWALPINDI: -Pakistan Day ( Youm-e-Pakistan) Potohar Kabaddi Tournament will start from 22nd March, 2022 at Dhamial Stadium Rawalpindi. The tournament will be played under the auspices of Punjab Kabaddi Association (PKA) and in collaboration with Pakistan Kabaddi Federation (PKF). Four teams will be participating in tournament which teams are Pothohar Region, Central Punjab Region, West Punjab Region and South Punjab Region. Chairman, Tournament Organizing Committee, Raja Shahid Iqbal and secretary PKF further told reporters in a press conference at Mini Sports Complex Liaquat Baugh Rawalpindi on Friday that all all arrangements had been given final touches for this tournament. He said that big name of Kabaddi from all over the Pakistan would be in action in the tournament. He further disclosed that seven 700 thousands rupees prize money will be distributed among the team, as the winners would be pocked 300 thousands. Final will be played on 23rd March. Punjab Minister Mohammad Basharat Raja will be chief guest of final match. He will distribute the prizes among the players.

Abdul Jabbar Faisal ISLAMABAD:-Pakistan Wheelchair Tennis team outplayed Indian Wheelchair Team 2-1 in the Wheelchair Tennis World Cup qualifying tournament in Antalya, Turkey. According to available information from abroad, in the first Singles, Mariappan Durai defeated Fida Hussain in straight sets 2-0 without conceding a solitary game at 6-0, 6-0 and earned vital lead 1-0 in the match. Pakistan bounced back in the match when UK based Pakistan top wheelchair guy, Asif Gul Abbasi outclassed his Indian opponent Sathasivam 2-0 without conceding a single game during the two sets. Abbasi was too good and displayed top quality game sitting in chair to square the affairs 1-1. Later, in the Doubles’ decider, Asif Gul Abbasi paring with Fida Hussain ousted challenger pair Mariappan Durai and Karthik 2-1 in a well-contested three sets contest. In the first set, Indian players got the earlier lead 3-0 that helped them to finish the set at 6-4. Meanwhile, in the second set, India got the lead 3-1. Bipin Dani Former Pakistani captain Asif Iqbal has welcomed the decision of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) to change the name of Lahore's Gaddafi Stadium. The PCB is set to change the name of this stadium, nearly after 50 years purely for financial gain rather than political move. "Nothing is wrong with this idea (of changing the name)", believes former captain Asif Iqbal. Speaking exclusively over the telephone from England, where the 78-year-old India-born Pak cricketer lives, said, "I think it’s a very good one. Naming after Gaddafi had nothing to do with Pakistan cricket. That was purely political". "The amount of money PCB is going to raise from the sponsors will benefit the development of the game and the players". Changing the names of stadiums is not new.  He adds, "In England also quite a few Test as well as county grounds are named after sponsors and if I am not mistaken internationally too this is happening. In Europe and in the UK most of the football teams and stadiums are named after their sponsors".

Sports Bulletin Report LAHORE:-Platinum Homes (PH) Tigers and Remington Stars scripted triumphs in the three-week Tower 21 Polo Super League here at the Lahore Polo Club ground on Thursday.  In the first match of the day, Platinum Homes Tigers recorded a close 7½-6 victory over The Eagles. Foreign player Amirreza Behboudi did the magic with mallet and polo pony and fired in four fantastic goals for the winning team while Umar Qadeer banged in a brace and Azam Noon struck one. For The Eagles, Taimoor Ali Malik cracked a quartet and Hashim Kamal Agha thrashed in two goals.  The day’s second match saw Remington Stars showing superb polo skills and techniques and overpowering Zacky Reapers by a huge margin of 8-3. Hamza Mawaz Khan was hero of the day for the winning team as he smashed in superb seven goals while the remaining one was converted by Hussain Monnoo. For Zacky Reapers, Nazar Dean Ali Khan banged in a brace and Saif Noon scored one goal.  Remington Stars are on the top of the points table followed by Platinum Homes Tigers at number two. Abdul Jabbar Faisal ISLAMABAD:-National Selection Committee (NSC) headed by chairman Mohammad Wasim announced the national teams for one day and Twenty 20 matches series against Australia on Thursday, as uncapped Asif Afridi and Mohammad Haris have been included in both for the three ODIs and one-off T20I squads. According to media department of Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), left-arm spinner Asif and wicketkeeper/batter Haris have earned the selectors’ attention as the result of his impressive performances in the domestic circuit. In the recently concluded seventh edition of the HBL Pakistan Super League, Asif took eight wickets in five matches for Multan Sultans, while 20-year-old Haris scored 166 runs in five matches at an impressive strike-rate of 186.5 for Peshawar Zalmi. In the ongoing Pakistan Cup, Haris has already scored 219 runs in seven matches at an average of just under 44 for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, while Asif has picked up eight wickets in seven matches for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa with an economy-rate of 4.39. Mohammad Nawaz, who had withdrawn from participation in the Test series for the Benaud-Qadir Trophy due to a foot injury, has been drafted in the side for both the ODI and T20I formats. However, his selection in the playing line-up will be subject to fitness test. While the selectors have picked up 20 players for the ODIs, which are being played as part of the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup Super League; they have chosen 17 players for the only T20I, leaving out Abdullah Shafique, Imam-Ul-Haq and Saud Shakeel.
