KPT Tennis League: Mohammad Usman Ejaz lifts the Singles title
Abdul Jabbar Faisal ISLAMABAD:-Davis cupper national tennis player, Mohammad Usman Ejaz has won the Singles title of the Karachi Port Trust (KPT) Tennis League after beating Hamza Asim in final 2-0 at Islamabad Tennis Complex G-6 on Sunday. Usman was in a great form in the final and did not allow his opponent to settle his feet on the court, as Usman displayed top quality tennis. He conceded just single game in the first set while two in the second to brushed aside his challenger. The final score-line was 6-1 and 6-2.    Mohammad Usman Ejaz said in his post match comments: “After representing Pakistan in the Davis Cup competition I have recently restarted professional tennis. I am thankful to my Coach Mahboob Khan who keeps on adjusting my technique and tactics and I am confident that under his supervision I will achieve my maximum tennis potential. Khan gave me vital tips before the final and how to play against a left-handed opponent. I kept mentor’s tips during the match and I finished with victory, “he added.  "Such tournaments are crucial for providing much needed match practice and opportunities for young and budding players to improve their games further.  I thank the main Sponsor Karachi Port Trust and the ITC Management, Kamran Khalil, for arranging such an event. I am confident that under the supervision Mehboob Khan I will achieve my maximum tennis potential in future, “he hoped.  Two major upset were done today as in the Under 16 boys semifinals HaziqHamza defeated Ali Zain 6-2 while in Men open singles semifinal Hamza Asim beat Jabir Ali 8-4, both players have performed excellent and played at highest level. In the Under-12 final, Hassan Usmani beat Abdul Wasay 6-2, 6-2 while in the Ladies final Sheeza Sajid defeated Soha Ali in both Under-16 and ladies final. Brigadier Tariq Bashir from KPT was the chief guest and distributed the prizes among the winners and runner-ups. On this occasion, Fazal-e-Subhan Director Islamabad Tennis Complex thanked Chairman KPT NadirWaraich for his support. KPT Tennis League starts at Islamabad Tennis Complex
Sports Reporter ISLAMABAD:-Karachi Port Trust (KPT) Tennis League started at Islamabad Tennis Complex on Saturday. Around 60 boys and girls from different clubs are participating in the 2-day fixture. Open Singles (Boys), Open Singles (Ladies), Under 12 and Under 16 Boys and Under 12 and Under 16 Girls events have been included in the KPT Tennis League. The event is being conducted on the round robin system and each player will have to play multiple matches to reach in the semifinal and final rounds. Sapphire Punjab Junior Tennis Championship: Asad & Omer claim Triple crowns
Sports Bulletin Report LAHORE:-Rising stars Asad Zaman and Omer Jawad claimed three titles each in the Sapphire Punjab Junior Tennis Championship 2022 that concluded here at the Punjab Tennis Academy, Bagh-e-Jinnah Friday. Asad won his first title by beating Hassan Ali with a score of 6-1, 7-6. He doubled his crowns when he, partnering with Amir Mazari outpaced the pair of Zaeem Ghafoor and Hassan Ali in the boys U-18 doubles final with a margin of 5-4, 4-2. Asad, who is the No 1 U-16 player, completed the hat-trick of titles when he outsmarted Amir Mazari in the boys U-16 final by 6-1, 6-4. Asad thanked his coach and mentor Rashid Malik (ZTBL) for his training and coaching that is helping him excel at higher level and also lauded Tariq Zaman, CEO Ali Embroidery, for his all-out generous support, as without sponsorship, it is not possible to afford the expensive game like tennis. Omer Jawad also managed a hat-trick of titles as first he defeated Zohaib Afzal Malik by 6-2, 6-1 to claim the boys U-14 title. He doubled his titles, when he, partnering with Ismail Aftab, grabbed the boys U-14 doubles title. They beat the pair of Aalay Hussain and Eesa Bilal 4-2, 4-1. The victory in the boys/girls U-12 final against young and promising Abdur Rehman helped Omer complete the hat-trick of titles. He outclassed Abdur Rehman 6-0, 6-2. In the girls Under-18 final, talented Ashtafila Arif beat young Hajra Sohail 7-5, 6-3 to lift the title. In the boys/girls Under-10 final, Hajra Sohail (AAA Associates) outpaced Mustafa Uzair Rana 8-2 to clinch the title. In the boys/girls Under-8, Ahsan Bari grabbed gold, Ibrahim Siraj silver and Daniyal Afzal Malik bronze medal. In the boys/girls Under-6, Soha Ali clinched gold, Mamnoon Bari silver and Diana bronze medal. Hafsa Shayan of Sapphire Textile graced the occasion as chief guest and distributed prizes and shields among the winners and top performers. Other notables present on the occasion were Col (R) Asif Dar, guest of honour, PLTA Secretary Rashid Malik, players and their families and tennis lovers. Malik thanked the Abdullah Family and Sapphire Textile for sponsoring this event and hoped that they will continue to support and patronage this beautiful game of tennis.
Sapphire Punjab Junior Tennis Championship from Tuesday
Sports Bulletin Report LAHORE:-The Sapphire Punjab Junior Tennis Championship 2022 will roll into action on Tuesday (March 15) here at the Punjab Tennis Academy, Bagh-e-Jinnah.  According to Tournament Director Rashid Malik, the players from across the Punjab province will be in seen in action in different age group categories including boys U–18, boys U–18 doubles, girls U–18, boys U–16, boys U–14, boys U–14 doubles, boys/girls U–12, boys/girls U–10, U–8 and U–6. Rashid Malik, who is also PLTA Secretary and former Davis Cup captain and coach, said that the purpose of holding such championships was to promote tennis at grassroots level. “The junior tennis is growing and flourishing in Pakistan and our junior champions are excelling at international circuit and earning good name for Pakistan at international level. “The PLTA is also committed to continue the vision of PTF President Salim Saifullah Khan and PLTA Chairman Rao Iftikhar Ahmad to hold maximum number of national and international events for juniors and hopefully, this year too, the PLTA will maintain its record of conducting maximum number of tennis events and will also break the previous years’ record,” renowned coach Malik asserted.  The opening ceremony of the Sapphire Punjab Junior Tennis Championship will be held on Tuesday (March 15) at 4:00 pm and PLTA Secretary Rashid Malik (Tamgh-e-Imtiaz) will inaugurate the event. All the finals of the championship will be played on March 18.
Tennis Lovers Junior National Tennis Championship: Bilal Asim wins three crowns
Abdul Jabbar Faisal ISLAMABAD:-A rising tennis lad, Bilal Asim claimed triple crowns in the 3rd Tennis Lovers Junior National Tennis Championship 2022 that concluded here at the Punjab Tennis Academy, Bagh-e-Jinnah on Sunday. Bilal Asim played tremendous tennis throughout the tournament and brushed a-side his opponents in the three respective categories to win the Boys’ Singles Under-16, Boys’ Singles Under-18 and Boys’ Doubles titles. In the Boys’ Under-18 final, Bilal outplayed talented Hamid Israr in straight sets 2-0 with the score of 6-3, 6-2. He doubled his crowns, when he and his partner Hamid Israr outclassed duo of young guns Asad Zaman and Nadir Reza Mirza at 6-4 and 6-3 in Boys’ Under-18 Doubles final. Bilal completed the hat-trick of crowns, when he overpowered promising Asad Zaman without conceding a single game with the score of 6-0, 6-0 in the Boys’ Under-16 final. Earlier, in the girls Under-18 final, brilliant Zahra Suleman overcame spirited Ashtafila Arif 2-1 in a well contested three set final. The final score-line was 3-6, 7-5 and 10-3. The Boys Under-14 title was claimed by Nadir Reza Mirza, who overwhelmed Ahtesham Humayun by 6-2, 6-2. The Boys Under-14 Doubles title was lifted by Ahtesham/Hamza Roman, who defeated promising pair of Abubakar Talha and Zohaib Afzal Malik by 6-1 and 7-5. Zohaib Afzal Malik and his partner Abubakar Talha secured the Boys/Girls U-12 Doubles title, when they toppled the duo of Omer Jawad and Ismail Aftab with the score of 6-0, 6-3 in the final. The Boys/Girls U-12 title was claimed by Umar Jawad, who routed Zohaib Afzal Malik 6-2, 6-2. Mohammad Shayan Afridi won the Boys/Girls U-10 title by beating young Hajra Suhail 4-1, 4-1. In Boys/Girls U-8, Salman Pirzada grabbed gold, Ehsan Bari silver and Aiman Rehan bronze medal. In Boys/Girls U-6, Musa Pirzada earned gold, Mamnoon Bari silver and Ibrahim Siraj bronze medal. Secretary, Punjab Lawn Tennis Association (PLTA) Rashid Malik graced the concluding ceremony as chief guest and he, along with some prominent tennis lovers, gave away the winning trophies and shields to the winners. The Punjab Lawn Tennis Association (PLTA) extended the felicitations to Madam Aneesa Agha, Amir Malik, Hassan Said, Rehman Ullah, Sohail Raza, Sajjad Wahla, Sohail Raza and Dr Anees Ahmad for their all-out support and cooperation in making this event a success.
