PCB announces Match officials for Pakistan v Sri Lanka U19 series
Sports Bulletin ReportLAHORE: Iftikhar Ahmed and Iqbal Sheikh, both part of PCB Elite Panel of Match Referees will lead the playing control team in the six-match series between Pakistan U19 and Sri Lanka U19 in Karachi from 15 to 31 October.The solitary four-day match will be played from 15 to 18 October at the National Bank Stadium in Karachi. ICC/PCB International Panel of Umpires Asif Yaqoob and Rashid Riaz will perform the duties of on-field umpires in the match, while Imtiaz Iqbal will be reserve umpire from PCB Elite Panel of Umpires. Iqbal Sheikh will be serving as the match referee.The four-day match will be followed by five 50-over matches and will be played from 22 to 31 October at the same venue. Asif Yaqoob, Imran Jawed and Imtiaz Iqbal, will form the umpiring panel for the one-day matches.The only four-day match will begin at 1000, while toss will take place at 0930 PKT. Doctor to re-examine pacer Naseem Shah the third week of October
Sports Bulletin ReportLAHORE: The Doctor will re-examine pacer Naseem Shah in the third week of this month October, as he will be monitored till the next check-up by the same doctor, who operated on his shoulder. Ihsanullah: Ihsanullah, who has featured for Pakistan in one ODI and four T20Is, suffered an elbow injury. The 20-year-old has been ruled out from international cricket since playing for Pakistan in the ODI series against New Zealand at home this year in April.Ihsanullah had to undergo surgery in a private hospital in Lahore. A doctor was flown in from England to operate Ihsanullah in the first week of September. After the operation, the fast bowler was placed in an elbow brace for four weeks, with a doctor and physio attending him on a daily basis. His condition is satisfactory and the brace will be removed at the end of fifth week. Afterwards, he will proceed with rehabilitation at the National Cricket Academy in Lahore.Mohammad Hasnain: 23-year-old Hasnain sustained an ankle injury while playing in the Sri Lanka Premier League in August. He traveled to England from Sri Lanka and had an MRI. The scans revealed the fast bowler requires rehabilitation for his ankle, which is under process since 13 September in England.Naseem Shah: 20-year-old Naseem got injured during Asia Cup, ruling him out of the ICC World Cup 2023. Following the injury, the fast bowler underwent shoulder surgery earlier last week. During the operation, he remained absolutely stable and was discharged from the hospital the next day. He will be attended by two physiotherapists for his rehabilitation initially at the hospital and also later at the training ground and gym. During this entire period, he will be continuously monitored and the doctor who operated on him will see him again in the third week of October.

Abdul Jabbar Faisal ISLAMABAD: Pakistani female cricket commentator, and sports presenter, Zainab Abbas left the Cricket World Cup and reached Dubai after receiving threats in India.According to available information from abroad, Zainab Abbas has left India owing to some security threats, and pressure was mounting on her in India, as she was there to perform her duties during the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023, a mega quadrennial event of the world.Now, she has reached Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE). It is pertinent to mention here that in her tweet regarding Kashmir 9 years ago, an Indian citizen filed a case for her tweet regarding Kashmir. Zainab was receiving threats in India and she decided to leave the World Cup and reach Dubai.Also, an official of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) confirmed that she (Zainab Abbas) reached Dubai.

Sri Lanka fined for slow over-rate against South Africa in world cup
Sports Bulletin ReportDubai (UAE): Sri Lanka have been fined 10 per cent of their match fee for maintaining a slow over-rate against South Africa in the Match 4 of ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup on Saturday, 7 October 2023.Javagal Srinath of the Emirates ICC Elite Panel of Match Referees imposed the sanction after Dasun Shanaka’s side was ruled to be 2 over(s) short of the target after time allowances were taken into consideration.In accordance with Article 2.22 of the ICC Code of Conduct for Players and Player Support Personnel, which relates to minimum over-rate offences, players are fined 5 per cent of their match fees for every over their side fails to bowl in the allotted time.Dasun Shanaka pleaded guilty to the offence and accepted the proposed sanction, so there was no need for a formal hearing. On-field umpires Richard Illingworth and Shahid Saikat, third umpire Michael Gough and fourth umpire Alex Wharf leveled the charge.

Left-handed batter won the “Man of the Match” award on his brilliant knock of 68 runs.Netherlands skipper invited Pakistan to bat after winning the coin’s battle. Green Shirts started their innings with a bumpy start losing three wickets in the first ten overs. However, tables turned quickly during the middle overs when the partnership of Mohammad Rizwan and Saud Shakeel yielded 120 runs and helped the team consolidate their position.Openers Imam-ul-Haq and Fakhar Zaman did not make much of a mark scoring 15 off 19 and 12 off 14 respectively. Skipper Babar Azam entered the fray in the fourth over and only managed to get five runs off 18 balls before getting caught by Saqib Zulfiqar.The Rizwan-Saud partnership provided the team with much needed stability, taking Pakistan’s tally to 158. Rizwan managed to get 68 runs off 75 balls while Saud pulled off 68 from 52 deliveries. Iftikhar Ahmed managed to get only nine runs off 11 balls before being dismissed by Bas de Leede.Mohammad Nawaz and Shadab Khan were able to hold their ground with Nawaz making 39 (43) and Shadab making 32 (34). Kane Williamson could not play the game owing to a fitness problem. A duo of English batters David Mullan and Jonny Bairstow started the innings and put 40 runs for the first wicket. Milan fell on the bowling of Matt Henry after scoring only 14 runs, wicketkeeper Latham collected his catch. Bairstow 33 runs.Meanwhile, veteran Joe Root played a responsible game, scoring a half-century and adding 70 runs for the fifth wicket with captain Joe Buttler. Buttler looked in good form and scored 43 runs with 2 sixes and 2 fours but was caught by the wicketkeeper in an attempt to cut an inbound delivery from Matt Henry.Liam Livingston also failed to play big innings and fell victim to Trent Boult after scoring 20 runs. Chris Woakes could also not rescue the English team and left-off the ground on score 11 runs while Sam Curran scored 14 runs and became the third victim of Henry. England scored 282 runs for the loss of 9 wickets in the allotted overs. For New Zealand, Matt Henry took 3 wickets while Mitchell Santner and Glenn Phillips took two wickets each.Chasing a target of 283 runs, New Zealand opened the innings with Will Young and Conway. However, after the first wicket, the English bowlers were left desperate for wickets as Dion Conway and Richan Vendra starred for the English bowlers on the day on a batting friendly wicket. Both the players not only showed excellent batting but also played aggressively and scored runs at an average of about 8 runs per over and demoralized the English bowlers.After completing their half-centuries, both became more aggressive and quickly progressed towards the century. Conway soon completed his century off 83 balls and Jadeja followed him with a century off 82 balls. Both the players continued to play well and easily took their team to the target in the 37th over without any further loss to win by 9 wickets.New Zealand’s excellent batting can be gauged from the fact that there were 82 balls left when New Zealand reached the target. Dion Conway scored 152 off 121 balls with 3 sixes and 19 fours while Richan Ravindra scored 123 runs off 96 balls with 5 sixes and 11 fours.
