T20 Super League: Sindh, and Balochistan claim victories
Sports Bulletin ReportABBOTTABAD: The 7th edition of the PBCC Blind Cricket T-20 Super League 2024 kicked off on Friday (June 7) at the APS School Cricket Ground in Abbottabad. The tournament features four provincial teams including Sindh, Punjab, KPK, and Balochistan showcasing the top blind cricket players from across Pakistan.Sindh beat Punjab by 4 wickets: The opening match of the tournament was contested between Punjab and Sindh at the APS School Cricket Ground. Sindh won the toss and elected to bowl first. The Punjab team was bowled out for 158 runs in 17.5 overs. Both Babar Ali and Akmal Hayat were the top scorers, each making 23 runs. Mohammad Salman and Idrees Saleem each took 2 wickets for Sindh, while Mohammad Irfan, Mohammad Safdar, Naeem Ullah, and Mohammad Ejaz claimed 1 wicket each.In reply, Sindh chased down the target in a nail-biting finish, reaching 159 runs in 19.5 overs for the loss of 6 wickets. Sanwal Shahzada played a crucial innings, scoring 35 runs off 23 balls. Ayoub Khan rescued Sindh with an unbeaten 29 runs off 18 balls, delivering superb strokeplay to secure the 4-wicket victory. Sindh required 13 runs in the last over, which Ayoub successfully achieved. Mohammad Safdar added 31 runs off 28 balls. For Punjab, Mati Ullah took 2 wickets and Sajid Nawaz claimed 1 wicket. Mohammad Safdar got the Man of the Match award.Balochistan beat KPK by 26 runs: Following the exciting first match, the second clash featured KPK and Balochistan in a highly competitive encounter. KPK won the toss and opted to field first, putting Balochistan in to bat. Balochistan set a formidable total, amassing 247 runs for the loss of 5 wickets in their allotted 20 overs. Haroon Khan dazzled with the bat, scoring a brilliant 75 runs off 44 balls. Shahzaib Haider provided strong support, remaining unbeaten with 50 runs off 31 balls. For KPK, Mohammad Asif managed to claim a wicket.In their reply, KPK put up a valiant effort but fell short, scoring 221 runs for the loss of 6 wickets in their 20 overs. Badar Munir was the standout performer for KPK, scoring 46 runs off 26 balls, while Mohammad Rashid contributed a swift 43 runs off 20 balls. Balochistan's Shahzaib Haider showcased his all-round skills by taking 3 crucial wickets. Mohammad Shahzeb and Mohammad Ayyaz also chipped in with a wicket each. Shahzaib Haider was the hero of the match.
Abbottabad to host Blind Cricket T20 Super League in June
Sports Bulletin ReportABBOTTABAD: A major city of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK) province Abbottabad will stage Pakistan Blind Cricket Council (PBCC) Blind Cricket T20 Super League Season 2023-24, from June 7 to 13, 2024.According to an official of PBCC, teams from four provinces including Sindh, Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Balochistan will fight for the top honour, as the best players from different cricketing nations will take part in the said tournament.As many as 13 matches will be played in the entertaining and competitive event. The prestigious league is a part of preparations for the 4th T20 Blind Cricket World Cup, which is scheduled to take place in Punjab and Sindh from November 22 to December 3, 2024. The T20 Blind Cricket World Cup will be a grand success, with seven countries, including India, Sri Lanka, South Africa, Bangladesh, West Indies, New Zealand, and Nepal expected to feature in the event. Australia is also expected to confirm its participation soon.A total of 22 players will be shortlisted from the league for the World Cup, as the shortlisted players will be provided training before the World Cup and then a 17-member squad will be finalized for the mega event. Niamatullah was decalred Man of the Match.Sindh’s Captain Badar Munir once again won the toss and as has been the case throughout the tournament, Sindh decided to bowl first. Balochistan Team posted an enormous total of 408 runs for the loss of 4 wickets in their allotted 40 overs. Led by the electrifying partnership of Niamatullah and Mohammad Salman, Balochistan batting line-up displayed spirited cricket. Niamatullah's unbeaten knock of 140 runs off just 86 balls featuring 18 boundaries, supported by Mohammad Salman's explosive 62 off 31 deliveries, laid the foundation for an imposing total. His masterclass, coupled with Babar Ali's steady contribution of 44 runs, boosted Balochistan to finish at a staggering 408/4 in their allotted 40 overs. For Sindh, Badar Munir bowled an economical spell, he conceded just 46 runs in 8 overs by taking 1 wicket, Kazimullah took 2 wickets.In reply, the start of Sindh innings saw an early setback with the loss of the most prolific Badar Munir, who had previously scored three double centuries in the tournament in as many innings he played and was a formidable force at the crease. Despite this setback, Sindh Blind reassembled, with Akmal Hayat Nasir and Anees Javed delivering sensational innings that kept their hopes alive. Akmal Hayat Nasir's blistering knock of 94 runs off 73 balls, coupled with Anees Javed's elegant display of stroke play by scoring 83 runs off 60 balls, provided a glimmer of hope for Sindh. However, their valiant efforts were not enough to secure victory as they fell short of the target. Sindh was bowled out after scoring 346 runs in 38.4 overs. AS Ali Blind Cricket Super League: Balochistan, Sindh claim wins
Sports Bulletin ReportPESHAWAR: Balochistan, and Sindh clinched victories on the second day of the AS Ali Blind Cricket Super League 2024 after beating Punjab and Islamabad respectively at the two different venues of Peshawar city. The first day was washed out due to rain and all teams were awarded one point each.Balochistan beat Punjab by 8 runs: (Hayatabad Sports Complex): In the morning Punjab won the toss and asked Balochistan to take guard. Balochistan posted a contending total of 377 runs on the board for the loss of 8 wickets in the allotted 40 overs. Niamat Ullah played a wonderful innings of 102 runs (off 93 balls) and Haroon Khan scored 66 runs (off 59 balls). Mohammad Asif was the pick amongst the bowlers he claimed 3 wickets while Mohsin Khan took 2 wickets. Punjab in reply made 369 runs by losing their 9 wickets in the stipulated 40 overs. Mohsin Khan was the highest scorer with 112 runs (off 94 balls) and Daniyal made 39 runs (off 41 balls). Saqib Ali bowled a fantastic bowling spell and fetched 4 wickets for Balochistan while Haroon Khan took 2 wickets. Haroon Khan was declared the best player of the match.Sindh beat Islamabad by 10 wickets (Peshawar Gymkhana Ground): Islamabad set the competitive total of 380 runs on the board for the loss of 9 wickets in the allotted 40 overs. Islamabad’s Captain Nisar Ali played a superb innings of 107 runs (off 80 balls) and Mohammad Akram chipped in with 76 runs (off 75 balls). Talha Iqbal claimed 3 wickets and Badar Munir took 1 wicket.In reply, Sindh chased down the target with ease in just 28.5 overs without any loss. Badar Munir played an extraordinary innings of 214 runs (off 110 balls). He was well supported by Talha Iqbal; he made 109 runs (off 81 balls). Badar Munir got the man of the match award.
Blind Cricket Trophy National One-day Tournament to start on April 20

Ali Blind Cricket Trophy 2023-24 One-Day Cricket Tournamnet will start on April 20 in Peshawar, as Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK) will take on Islamabad on the opening fixture of 6-team competition here at Hayyat Abad Sports Complex on Saturday.According to an official of Pakistan Blind Cricket Council (PBCC), the tournament is set to take place in Peshawar from April 20 to 25, 2024, with the sponosporship of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK) Sports Department. Australia supports cricket training for Pakistani blind women
ISLAMABAD (PR): The Australian High Commission, in partnership with the Pakistan Blind Cricket Council (PBCC) and Serena Hotels, supported a cricket coaching clinic and tournament for visually impaired women and girls from across Pakistan from March 3 to 8, 2024 in celebration of International Women’s Day here at Shalimar cricket ground.Speaking at the award-giving ceremony at the conclusion of the tournament, Australia’s Acting High Commissioner to Pakistan, Nicole Guihot said that Australia’s continuing support aimed to empower more women and girls with disabilities to realise their potential and broaden their horizons through sport.“We are supporting the development of blind women’s cricket in Pakistan because sport breaks down barriers to inclusion, diversity and equity, fosters understanding and builds resilient communities,” Guihot said.Coaches Abdul Razzaq, Ibrar Shah, Shahida Shaheen, and Tahir Mehmood Butt, who coached the national blind men's team, worked with the women to hone ball skills, enhance team cooperation, and strengthen leadership.The Chairman of Pakistan Blind Cricket Council, Syed Sultan Shah, said, “Blind Cricket is a sport that has gained popularity in recent years for its unique approach to inclusivity. It provides an opportunity for people with visual impairments to compete at a high level, develop their skills and confidence, and become people of vision, both on and off the field. I hope that this initiative will inspire more people with disabilities to participate in sports and lead fulfilling lives.” He also mentioned some exciting news: the first-ever T-20 World Cup for Women Blind Cricket is happening in India in December 2025! This is a big deal because it gives these girls a chance to shine on the world stage, representing their countries. It shows that all the hard work to develop women's blind cricket is paying off, and it's a great opportunity for these girls to show what they can do.In 1922, two blind factory workers invented blind cricket in Melbourne, Australia when they used a tin can containing rocks as a ball. In 1928, the first sports ground and clubhouse for blind cricket was built in Kooyong, Melbourne. Today blind cricket is played at club level and nationally throughout Australia.
Women's Blind Cricket: Punjab Clinch thrilling Victory Final

President lauds blind cricket team for bringing fame to Pakistan

President lauded them for bringing laurels to Pakistan besides highlighting globally the capabilities of differently-abled persons.He said that during the recent years, blind cricket got special attention and recognition in Pakistan. The active role of the Pakistan Blind Cricket Board in promoting and holding contests is welcoming, he added. Calling for the encouragement of the blind cricket team, the president also called for acknowledgement of the cricketers’ impressive role to highlight the team’s efforts and achievements.
